Marilyn Manson tours Australia with Johnston Audio and NexoThe tour was big, it was loud and it was all Nexo from Johnston Audio! When Marilyn Manson toured Australia, the production rider said, “Make no mistake – this is a loud, sub-bass heavy show. The more system you have, the less it will be stressed. The system needs to be able to maintain a constant 105 db-A / 120 db-C without undo stress.” With shows at Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Melbourne Vodafone Arena, Canberra Royal Theatre, Sydney Entertainment Centre and Newcastle Entertainment Centre, Johnston Audio provided 32 Nexo Alpha M3 mid-high, 4 Nexo Alpha M8 wide dispersion mid-high, 36 Nexo Alpha B1 low-mid and 18 Nexo Alpha S2 subs. The monitor requirements were even more demanding! The opening line of the monitor specification was “Marilyn Manson Stage volume is VERY loud” and …. “Seriously… no really. Side fills alone must be capable of producing 130dBC or 107dBA on a 60’ stage.” To meet these rather daunting requirements, a Nexo monitor system was provided. The monitor rig comprised 16 Nexo PS15 wedges, and Nexo Alpha side fills, each side consisting of an ear splitting 3 x Nexo Alpha M3 mid-high, 4 Nexo Alpha B1 low-mid and 4 Nexo Alpha S2 subs. Camco Vortex 6 digital amplifiers powered the FOH and monitor systems.
The system fitted comfortably in one truck, and the Johnston Audio crew on
the tour -Drew Menard, Paul Gould and Mark Crawley - had the system up and
running in 3 hours every day. |
